He is currently the Kirksville R-III High School Assistant Principal, where he's served from 2020 to present. His previous experiences include seven years at the Kirksville R-III Central Office from 2013 - 2020 as the Transportation Director, Facilities Director and School Safety Coordinator. Six years as the Kirksville R-III Middle School Assistant Principal from 2007 - 2013, two years as the Kirksville R-III Middle School Physical Education/Health instructor from 2005 - 2007.
Six years at the University of Missouri S & T from 1999 - 2005, one year at Hannibal High School 1998 - 1999, three years at Northern Michigan University 1995 - 1998, one year at Southeast Missouri State University 1994 - 1995, and one year at Truman State University 1993 - 1994 coaching football and teaching Physical Education.
He also played professional football for the San Diego Chargers in 1993.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeast Missouri State University and Masters in School Administration and Specialist in School Administration from William Woods University.

Second grade had some special visitors today! Mrs. Smith's dad brought in the buckskins he has made and talked about the process of creating the pieces. Mrs. Bleything’s dad came to show his collection of arrowheads, spearheads, game balls, and other neat pieces he has found! These presentations tied into their Native American unit.

Twenty-one students went to State Tech today and saw lots of neat programs. They even found a Schuyler Alumni who is in his second year of lineman school.
Sixth grade was busy in social studies last week. They began their First Civilizations unit. The students had to carry water, hunt for food, and build a shelter on their own. They did so again in groups and were able to add in farming and inventing a pottery wheel.
Buddy Rooms in 6th and Kindergarten partnered up for some reading and crafts last Friday!
5th and 6th graders in Mrs. Smith’s strategies class have been learning about the Inca. Their challenge was to try to recreate an Inca grass bridge with newspaper. Tomorrow, they will test them.
Chloe is the newest 5th grade band student of the week!
Fifth graders are learning about Earth's natural resources in science. They worked with their group to research where in the world we find different types of metals.
2nd and 4th grade Buddy Rooms worked together on a festive project last Friday!
2nd graders have worked hard to make Native American dioramas to present to their classes! Check out their creativity with reusable materials.
