A big shout out to Autumn from the Schuyler County Ambulance District for serving slushies to our elementary kids this week!

Today was a fun filled day at Schuyler R1. Students in grades 7-12 participated in teacher jail to raise funds for a former student. Student Council and FCA sold candy and soda throughout the day. In the afternoon, students were able to choose an activity (movies, board games, corn hole, volleyball, etc.). Then we wrapped up the day with a pep assembly to wish our Lady Rams and Rams good luck tonight. Be sure to show up for the game, girls tip off at 6.

Schuyler Elementary is having a Super Bowl Spirit Week next week! We encourage all our football fans to participate!

Trouble is brewing in the High School. Teachers behind bars. All proceeds benefit Heather Novinger.

In Ag Structures class Craig Snider & Hannah Farris (with the help of Naomi Newland), built and painted a new “teacher jail” for Courtwarming festivities on Friday!

Parents of students taking MACC classes:
1. 1098-T forms are now available on your child's MyMACC login (same place you pay the bill). You will want these for tax purposes.
2. Make sure you set up a payment plan or pay the bill in full before they start assessing a late fee.-which they tell me is very soon.

Shout out to Alumnus Nathan Leslie!

Officer Rohn read a story on roadway safety to our first and second graders. They talked about how to be smart riders.

JH/HS January Students of the Month:
Ian Jackson was nominated by Mr. Kliethermes because he has a deep interest in science and how things work. His questions show that he is looking to understand scientific concepts and not just to memorize them for tests.
Ren Spurgeon was nominated by Mrs. Thompson because she is hard working, focused and is consistently seeking to support and uplift her fellow students. Ren's willingness to help others and enthusiasm for science has earned her my student of the month nomination.
Chelsea Miller was nominated by Mrs. Blessing for many reasons. Chelsea has taken all three of Mrs. Blessing's high school science classes and done very well. She is also her senior assistant this year and helps with lab set up and classroom organization. Finally, Chelsea is the Student Council President and works hard to keep the school environment positive. Mrs. Blessing has enjoyed having Chelsea as a student and she will be missed at SCR-1 next year.

Sixth grade science students learned about minerals, observed them with a magnifying glass, and tested to see what color of streak each mineral made on paper. 🪨💎
