Preschool students learned about patterns in math this past week.

As first grade learned about where our food comes from, they read a story about where milk comes from and discussed milk products. Then, the students helped make butter!

Second grade started learning about measuring in centimeters this week!

This week is MSHSAA Winter Sports Officials Appreciation Week. These dedicated men and women take time away from their work schedules and their families to provide our student-athletes the opportunity to play the games they love and contribute to the overall experience our student-athletes receive while participating in educational athletics. Thank you from all of us at Schuyler!

A big thanks to Katelyn Roberts from Tri-County for being our slushie server today! She had a really big fan at lunch!

Sixth grade science students learned about the layers of Earth by making a model out of homemade dough. 🌎

Court warming shirts are being sold as a fundraiser for boys basketball! Forms will be sent home with elementary students and are available through the high school office or a boys basketball player. Please support!

Senior students and parents if you need help filling out the FAFSA make plans to attend our FAFSA night on January 29 from 4-7pm. If you're interested in attending, please sign up outside the office door.

The High School Mini-Med School at the University of Missouri Columbia is returning this June for two sessions. Session 1 runs from June 1-5 and Session 2 is from June 8-12.
This overnight camp is for current Missouri high school juniors (rising seniors) who are interested in a career in medicine. Students will attend lectures and will participate in the same Patient Based Learning (PBL) curriculum that Mizzou medical students do. We will have lots of hands-on clinical experiences, time our simulation and anatomy centers and social events in the evenings. This is a great experience for anyone who is considering medical school after college.
The cost for this camp is $650 which includes all the camp fees, lodging, camp deposit of $50 and meals. There are some scholarships available, and the application is free to complete.
The application is open January 17 and is due March 16 along with a transcript and a letter of recommendation from a past or current science teacher. For more information about the camp and the application visit: https://medicine.missouri.edu/offices-programs/education/pre-med-outreach-programs/mini-medical-school

Scholarship opportunities:

Subject: Promise Scholarship Opportunity for Certain High School Freshmen
Dear 9th Grade Students and Families-
I wanted to pass along an opportunity that you may be eligible for called the My Missouri “MyMO” Scholarship Promise Program. MyMO is a scholarship promise program intended to place 9th grade students from low-income backgrounds on a successful path to prepare, save and plan for college. To qualify, students and families will complete a Federal Student Aid Estimator to show exceptional financial need (exceptional need would be SAI of 7,395 or less) as well as open a MOST 529 College Savings account.
Attached is the flyer with information including eligibility requirements and how to apply. The application is now open and will close March 1, 2025.
Informational zoom sessions will be held January through March for families to learn more about MyMO and get help with applying. Register for an evening session on zoom to learn more.
Please note: Only high school freshmen are eligible to apply. However, if there are current high school sophomores, juniors or seniors in your home, Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation has several other opportunities for students as they reach their senior year. Check out their website: moslf.org.
If you have questions, please reach out directly to Becca Diskin, Program Manager for the Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation, at becca.diskin@moslf.org.
